Lights! Camera! APCO!!

The Intergraph booth at APCO slightly resembled a Hollywood sound stage during the APCO International Conference in Houston, Tex. From August 1 -4, public safety personnel, including call takers and dispatchers, law enforcement personnel and EMS responders, convened to learn about the latest advancements in technologies and industry best practices to advance their incident response efforts.
Attendees who stopped by the Intergraph booth had a lot to see! Conference-goers were able to view demonstrations of Intergraph’s incident management, business intelligence, records management and other public safety and security solutions. Additionally, they were intrigued by the camera crew and bright lights within the booth. Bringing a bit of Hollywood to Houston, Intergraph convened a group of industry experts and recorded their perspectives about trends and challenges associated with public safety. The interview segments were then shown on the flat screen TV in the Intergraph Theater within the booth. The segments prompted a lot of discussion among attendees, as they agreed, or in some cases, disagreed with the unique points of view of those who were interviewed.

The Intergraph Theater was also the site of an informative and lively presentation on the hour during the conference. Attendees could be seen waving their arms and hands to interact with one of the hosts (who would reward them with a high-in-demand Intergraph t-shirt). Those who watched the presentation were entered in a drawing to win an iPod at the end of each day and one lucky attendee went home with an iPad at the end of the conference.

Intergraph also had a visible presence on APCO TV, streaming video that was shown inside the conference, before the keynote speakers and in the host hotel guest rooms. Intergraph’s Jeff Robertson and Steve Souder from Fairfax County (Va.) were introduced in the video as visionary leaders in the implementation of state-of-the-art public safety technologies and their collaboration in the Data Exchange Hub project.
The APCO conference marked the introduction of the newest version of one of the industry’s most widely deployed incident management solutions: Intergraph Incident Management version 9.1. This latest version of Intergraph’s incident management solution provides police, fire, EMS and security agencies with the ability to optimize agency resource allocation and improve response coordination to better save lives and protect property in the communities they serve.
Additionally, Intergraph touted its ten-year involvement in and support of a next-generation, fully integrated, digital emergency communications environment for faster incident response to save lives and protect property.
All in all, APCO was an informative, exciting few days full of networking opportunities. See you next year at APCO in Philadelphia!
