Christchurch City Council won the “ALGIM GIS Project of the Year Award” at the 2012 ALGIM (Association of Local Government Information Management) GIS Symposium, held 2-3 April in Wellington, New Zealand, at the James Cook Hotel, Grand Chancellor.
Christchurch City Council was awarded based on its successful standing up of a Web Feature Service after the earthquakes in Christchurch to improve the flow of critical infrastructure data to its partners and contractors. Intergraph assisted Christchurch City Council with developing their web services capabilities which involves spatial data infrastructure (SDI) of GeoMedia® WebMap Professional, to enable the Council to share data with other authorities in the post-earthquake recovery and rebuilding of the city.
